KAZAKHSTAN
Masterclass in Astana, Kazakhstan, at the National Scientific Medical Center, where we performed four Uniportal VATS cases broadcasted live: left upper broncho-vascular sleeve lobectomy, right upper lobectomy, right lower anatomical segmentectomy (S8-10), and left lower lobectomy. Nearly 50 surgeons from different cities across the country attended the course.
KYRGYZSTAN
In Kyrgyzstan, we performed the first minimally invasive anatomical resections ever done in the country at the National Oncology Center in Bishkek. We completed two cases: right upper Uniportal VATS lobectomy and Uniportal VATS lingular resection with pericardial resection for a single central metastasis. I’m very happy to be part of this historic moment in the country.
TURKMENISTAN
First Uniportal VATS masterclass in Turkmenistan at the International Center of Endocrinology and Surgery in the capital, Ashgabat. We performed three cases: subxiphoid UVATS thymectomy for Myasthenia Gravis and two left lower UVATS lobectomies. I was very impressed by this little-known country, the incredible beauty of the city, and the modernity of the hospital.
