The Diego González Rivas Foundation concluded its mission in Africa after visiting Tanzania, having previously been in Sierra Leone and Liberia in August. Dr. Diego González Rivas traveled to Dar es Salaam, where he trained 30 surgeons in the Uniportal VATS technique and provided the necessary materials to perform minimally invasive surgeries.

Moreover, thanks to the collaboration of the LaLiga Foundation, balls were donated for hospitalized children. Under the direction of Dr. Diego González Rivas, the Foundation carried out two notable surgeries in Tanzania. One of them was the removal of a tumor that occupied half of the thorax of a 6-year-old girl, and the other was the operation on a 20-year-old young woman who had suffered for a decade with a rib stuck in the lung.

In addition to these medical achievements, the trip to Tanzania fulfilled a dream of Dr. González Rivas: reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, and therefore, the flag of the Diego González Rivas Foundation waved on the highest peak in Africa.
